Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: October 2026
Ferrante, PLLC is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition and keyboard-only navigation.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium set out how to make web content accessible. WCAG is the standard most widely used to assess web accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act, including in the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 rule for state and local government websites, and it is incorporated into the European standard EN 301 549.
ferrantelawfirm.com conforms to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA: it meets every Level A and Level AA success criterion. This is based on our evaluation of October 2026, described below.
How the website is built
- Keyboard: every function works with the keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator, a “Skip to content” link, and no item hidden under the header or banners when it receives focus, including at 400% zoom.
- Structure: headings, landmarks, lists, tables and labels are coded so that assistive technology can present them correctly, and the language of each page, and of words in Italian, is declared.
- Text and contrast: text and controls meet WCAG contrast ratios; text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout adapts down to 320 pixels wide without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
- Video: the video at the top of the home page has no sound, is described in text, can be paused with a button, and does not play automatically when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Motion: nothing flashes. Movement, including the video and the office clocks, can be stopped through the accessibility options below or your device settings.
- Controls: buttons and links have accessible names; buttons and other controls have targets of at least 24 by 24 pixels; dialogs keep focus inside them and close with the Escape key.
- Help: contact details appear in the same place on every page.
Accessibility options
The “Accessibility options” button, at the bottom right of every page and in the footer, lets you adjust the website to your needs: larger text, higher contrast, underlined links, increased text spacing, and stopping animations and video. Your settings are saved in your browser and apply on every page. These options are built into the website’s own code; we do not use third-party accessibility overlays. They complement, and do not replace, the settings of your device and assistive technology.
How we assess it
The website was evaluated against each WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criterion in October 2026, through automated testing with axe-core on every page at desktop and mobile widths, keyboard-only testing, a full read-through of every page, banner and dialog with a screen reader simulation that reproduces what screen readers announce, zoom, reflow and text-spacing testing, colour contrast review and frame-by-frame analysis of the video for flashing. We evaluate the website again whenever it changes significantly and at least once a year.
The website relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and its content remains available when JavaScript is turned off. It is built on web standards supported by current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
